Wolf Hall Companion

I illustrated the cover and interior illustrations for the Wolf Hall Companion by Lauren Mackay, published by Pavilion Books.

This challenging project was an immersion into Tudor history and I worked on a diverse series of illustrations including detailed scenes, portraits, maps and plans, motifs, family trees and crests. Historical accuracy was key and I observed many historical paintings and engravings for reference.

As someone with an appreciation for history I wanted to use a style that was in keeping with this time period so I looked to wood engravings. This was achieved through digital drawing which is most efficient when there are a large number of illustrations.
