I had a lot of fun working on this cover illustration. This book has so much atmosphere and vivid imagery that I felt deserved to be represented on the cover.

The magical realism/fantasy story reads like a fairytale and I wanted to inject a bit of traditional style whilst keeping it contemporary.

The illustration was created using digital illustration techniques that are inspired by and mimic the textures of my printmaking work.

The addition of gold foils and spot UV to add another layer of magic making this cover feel truly special. I’m so pleased it is getting such admiration and it has been featured by Spine magazine.
